Key Responsibilities:
As a Distributed Systems Engineer on our Data Platform team, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and building scalable and reliable distributed systems
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues
- Contributing to the development of open-source technologies and contributing to the open-source community
- Working closely with our Data Science team to develop and implement data analytics solutions
- Participating in code reviews and ensuring high-quality code is delivered

Our Data Platform team is focused on several key areas, including:
Database Access Stage:
We are building an adaptable query interface that enables our microservices to store, consume, and manage their data efficiently.
Data Stage Foundation:
We are developing a platform for our own data platforms, enabling us to rapidly enhance our data and analytics capabilities without building custom platforms for each new framework.
Big Data Figure:
We are responsible for providing a cloud-native platform for distributed data processing at arenaflex.
Big Data Organization:
We offer a platform for scheduling, coordinating, and executing big data jobs and workflows in a self-serve manner.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems or applications
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalability
- Experience with Java or other object-oriented programming languages
- Familiarity with Python and other programming languages
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with cloud-native technologies and containerization
- Familiarity with big data processing frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, and Flink
- Experience with data analytics and machine learning
- Strong understanding of data modeling and data warehousing
- Experience with DevOps and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
