Key Responsibilities:
As an Experienced Ride Advancement Specialist Sr., you will be responsible for:
- Designing and improving mechanical ride systems from concept to installation, ensuring that they meet innovative aims and partner requirements.
- Distilling and organizing technical requirements from high-level insights, story descriptions, and artwork.
- Collaborating with key partners to define system requirements and connection point details.
- Leading the daily activities of a design and configuration team through all phases of work, including planning, mockups, production, installation, testing, turnover, and close-out efforts.
- Being responsible for the development of extension, examination, testing, risk, and report records.
- Being responsible for seller/contractor management and oversight.
- Being responsible for advanced model and drawing development, and delivery.
- Leading large-scale verification of idea model and prototype efforts; planning/fabricating/testing.
- Collaborating with the project acquisition team to assess, bid, and award outside contractor contracts.
- Leading/managing the installation of ride mechanical equipment, field support, and testing.
Essential Qualifications:
* Involved mechanical engineering experience
- High-level engineering knowledge (e.g., statics, dynamics, resistances, kinematics, stress/strain)
- High-level engineering expertise (e.g., machine design, weldments, power train, materials)
- Capability with design tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Navisworks, AutoCAD, SketchUp, ANSYS, FEA, Matlab)
- Unparalleled design sensibilities and innovative problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Past experience with Disney or entertainment industry, with advanced knowledge of the business
- Experience with life safety plan/prerequisites
- Experience with model, development, or potentially innovative products
- Technical certifications (EIT, FE, PE)
Skills and Competencies:
* Strong mechanical engineering skills, with a focus on ride system design and improvement
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and innovatively
- Proficiency with design tools, including SolidWorks, Navisworks, AutoCAD, SketchUp, ANSYS, FEA, and Matlab
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to distill and organize technical requirements
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously
