The SPACE Team: Driving Innovation in Windows Validation

The SPACE team is responsible for driving innovation in new marquee UIs used by Windows users worldwide. We're seeking a collaborative, comprehensive, and user-focused engineer to join our team and help us build the future of Windows Validation experiences, such as Passkeys, and engage with our users by building client-driven notification stages across mobile applications and Windows.

Key Responsibilities

As a Programmer II in the SPACE team, you will be responsible for using C++, WinRT, and WinUI to develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions for Windows users. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with a diverse and stable team of Engineers, Program Managers, UX Designers, AI/ML Researchers, and Customer Specialists to deliver features that leverage AI advances, such as speech, vision, natural language processing, and AI, multimodal input, and more
• Developing and testing software solutions that meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability
• Working closely with senior engineers and technical leaders to learn and grow, and contribute to the technical vision and strategy of the team
• Participating in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure the highest quality of software solutions
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize features and user experiences that meet the needs of our users
• Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in software development, AI, and machine learning to ensure that our solutions remain cutting-edge and innovative

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
• 4+ years of experience in software development using C++, WinUI, or XAML
• Hands-on experience with software standards and best practices, such as design patterns, code quality, testing, and troubleshooting
• Experience in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience in creating features and user experiences that leverage AI advances, such as speech, vision, natural language processing, and AI, multimodal input, and more

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:

• Experience with cloud-based development and deployment
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and practices
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools, such as JUnit and Selenium
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
