Job Summary

As a Pharmacy Customer Service Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to our customers. You will work closely with our pharmacy team to ensure that our customers receive the best possible care and support. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Registering customer transactions on assigned sales register, providing customers with courteous, fair, agreeable, and proficient checkout service
  • Assisting customers and patients by greeting them and offering help with items and services
  • Modeling and conveying excellent customer service best practices with all colleagues to deliver a unique and brilliant customer experience
  • Performing tasks as assigned by the Pharmacy Director, Staff Pharmacist, and Senior Supervisor, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and medication data, ensuring data is accurate, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring medication, confirming medication is correct, and checking for potential interactions
  • Reporting, immediately, prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhering to arenaflex strategies and methods corresponding to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program
  • Handling calls that do not require individual attention of the pharmacist, including those to doctors
  • Processing (revising and resubmitting) manual claims for external program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and performing other administrative tasks as assigned by the Pharmacy Director
  • Assisting and supporting the Pharmacy Division on stock management activities, including ordering, unloading, checking, and storing shipments of medications
  • Maintaining knowledge of arenaflex resource security methods, and recording claims for distribution center overages (stock received, but not charged), deficiencies (stock charged, but not received), order errors or damaged products, including Rx medications
  • Ensuring compliance with state and local regulations regarding controlled substances (e.g., cocktails and tobacco products)
  • Building and maintaining displays, including promotional, seasonal, and special displays, and completing resets and corrections as assigned
  • Assisting with the division of food items (e.g., raw foods from pre-cooked) and product placement as determined by strategies/methods (e.g., raw and frozen meats on bottom shelves)
  • Having working knowledge of store systems and store equipment
  • Providing customer service in the photo area, including digital identification photo service, banner print and creative machine, and suggestive selling of special photo items
  • Taking on web pick-up responsibilities (screens orders in Picture Care, handles requests (picks items), and delivers requests to customers as they arrive at the store)
  • Assisting with external and internal maintenance by ensuring a clean, neat, and well-organized store condition and appearance
  • Adhering to all arenaflex policies and procedures; maintaining respectful relationships with colleagues
  • Completing special tasks and other assignments as assigned

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree

  • Strong background in pharmacy operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekend hours
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English (except in Puerto Rico)

Preferred Qualifications

* Six months of experience in a retail environment

  • Previous work experience with arenaflex
  • Strong numerical skills to accurately fill prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications
  • Proficiency in computer skills
  • Knowledge of store stock control
  • PTCB certification
