Carnegie Mellon University is focused on areas critical to national security and seeks an engineering student for an internship. The role involves designing and developing software prototypes, analyzing source code, and contributing to software resilience efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software prototypes
  • Find weaknesses in source code
  • Research methods for software resilience
  • Develop tools, techniques, and processes to solve software challenges

Skills

  • Current enrollment in a degree granting program such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or similar
  • Able to work an internship schedule during the summer 2025 semester
  • Able to come on-site to the SEI Pittsburgh office
  • Candidates will be subject to a background check
  • Candidates for this position must be eligible to work in the United States without Visa sponsorship
  • Proficient software development skills in C++ and one or more of the following: C, Python, MATLAB, C#, or JAVA
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems
  • Able to work in an Agile based work environment collaboratively with other engineers
  • Familiarity with the various stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
