We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team as a Data Engineer, working from the comfort of your own home. As a key member of our tech group, you'll design, build, and deploy distributed data handling and analytical systems on a hybrid cloud platform. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with skilled designers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive innovation in a fast-paced, result-oriented culture.Key Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for:- Designing and building distributed data handling and analytical systems on a hybrid cloud platform.
- Creating high-level and detailed designs of subsystems and features, with a focus on performant code.
- Developing and coding features, working closely with designers and contributing to code and other SDLC tasks.
- Building Proof of Concepts (POCs) to validate new ideas and emerging technologies.
- Staying up-to-date with industry-leading innovations and solutions, and applying this knowledge to build low-latency distributed systems.
- Leading a culture of experimentation and learning, participating in a results-driven culture, and being open to trying new ideas without fear of failure.
- Collaborating with peer innovation and development teams across various areas.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:- 2+ years of work experience in software development and execution using Java or Scala.
- Experience in data handling using Flash.
- Knowledge of designing, implementing, and working with NoSQL databases like Cassandra, Elasticsearch.
Favored Qualifications
While not required, experience in the following areas will be highly valued:- Experience in distributed data handling and analysis using Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Flash.
- Experience in distributed messaging frameworks like Kafka.
- Experience in building Microservices and Service Mesh is a plus.
- Experience in cloud platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
- Experience in Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and DevOps Frameworks.
- Experience in architecting large-scale distributed data systems, considering scalability, reliability, security, performance, and flexibility.
- Clear understanding of different design patterns, threading, and memory models supported by the language/VM.
- Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to other developers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create and deliver effective presentations to senior management.
