Job Responsibilities
As an Experienced Data Scientist – RWE, you will be responsible for producing high-quality, actionable insights from real-world data to inform business decisions and drive growth. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Data Preparation: Developing and implementing data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources, including in-house data properties and certified systems.
- Data Analysis: Conducting advanced data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations in real-world data, and developing predictive models to inform business decisions.
- Collaboration: Partnering with cross-functional teams, including clinical trial teams, to develop and implement data-driven solutions that meet business needs.
- Data Visualization: Creating interactive dashboards and reports to communicate complex data insights to stakeholders, including business leaders, clinicians, and patients.
- Due Diligence: Conducting due diligence on new real-world data companies and evaluating the quality of their data to inform investment decisions.
Key Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Bachelor's degree or higher
in a quantitative or computational field, such as computer science, mathematics, or statistics.
4+ years of experience
in a quantitative or computational role, with a strong focus on data analysis and machine learning.
Proficiency in programming languages
, including R, Python, or SQL.
Experience with statistical analysis
, including generalized linear models, classification and regression trees, and unsupervised learning.
Knowledge of data visualization tools
, including Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or Spotfire.
Experience working with large datasets
, including data processing and management.
Familiarity with healthcare data standards
, including ICD9/10/ReadCode and clinical terminologies.
Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. or Master's degree
in a quantitative or computational field.
Expertise in EMR/Health IT
, including disease registries and policy claims databases.
Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines
for real-world evidence research or clinical trials.
Experience working with alternative data sources
and alternative methods of data collection, including those enabled by technology systems and/or solutions.
Understanding of machine learning techniques
, including experimental design, Bayesian modeling, and sequential data analysis.
