IME Financial Coordinator

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush is nationally recognized as a leader in comprehensive orthopedic services. They are seeking a full-time IME Financial Coordinator responsible for following up on Independent Medical Exams and ensuring timely payment for services by contacting various payers.

Responsibilities

  • Mails out bills with reports to insurance company or law firm
  • Submits claims and documentation to responsible parties for processing and payment
  • Maintaining telephone contact with parties as needed to inform and update
  • Maintaining documentation of all correspondence and contact with carrier, claimant, physician, attorneys, etc. to ensure a comprehensive and detailed source of information regarding the case
  • Complete account review and distribution of payments from unallocated accounts
  • Maintain a positive demeanor with patients, peers, supervisors and physicians, especially when receiving feedback or direction
  • Assist staff members when necessary in a positive and professional manner to ensure the patients receive the utmost in care
  • Perform work with accuracy to minimize error correction by other staff members
  • Double check data entry to ensure the correct information has been entered into the NextGen and Athena system
  • Organize and prioritizes work to make sure projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Stay abreast of and complies with all state and federal laws including HIPAA, ADA, OSHA, and FLSA
  • Adapt to change in positive and professional manner
  • Any and all other duties as assigned

Skills

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of one year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Stay abreast of and complies with all state and federal laws including HIPAA, ADA, OSHA, and FLSA
  • Workers Comp experience helpful
