Human Resources Technician 1
The Minnesota Department of Administration is seeking a Human Resources Technician 1 to provide technical and administrative support within their Human Resources Division. This role involves entering employee data transactions and supporting various HR functions to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical and administrative support in the Operations unit of the Human Resources Division
- Responsible for accurate and timely entry of employee and position data transactions in the State Employee Management (SEMA4) system for the Department of Administration and SmART agencies
- Serves as backup for key HR functions, including supporting the HR Leave Coordinator with leave administration and providing coverage and backup support for the HR Operations Office Assistant
- Has access to labor relations information as defined in M.S. 13.27, participates in meetings where state labor negotiations proposals are discussed; and will have access to agency strike plans
- Eligible for up to a 50% hybrid telework arrangement
Skills
- One (1) year of experience performing technical and/or administrative support duties in a human resource setting including:
- Experience using an HR Information system (HRIS) to review employee and position information and enter employee data
- Computer software experience (e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, and database software) and keyboarding skills to accurately review and enter data, create employee letters and memos, and run reports
- Customer service and communication skills sufficient to provide clear, concise, and accurate explanation of HR policies and procedures in person, on the phone, or through written correspondence
- Demonstrated organizational, prioritization and time management skills with the ability to independently initiate and complete a variety of tasks
- Experience working with confidential and sensitive information
- Experience using State systems such as SWIFT, SEMA4, SWIFT Data Warehouse, Document Direct, or other comparable systems to review employee and position information, pull standard reports, and accurately enter transactions
- Experience creating and running OBIEE reports
- Experience working in a unionized environment including interpreting and applying union contract language
