You must meet the Minimum Qualifications of the new job.2. The difference between the top salary steps (the highest pay rate within the range of pay) of your current job class and the job class that you intend to transfer into, must be less than 5%.There are three different transfer types that you may qualify for: interdepartmental transfer, interclass transfer, and voluntary demotion. These different transfer types are defined as:
- Interdepartmental transfer - a transfer in the same class from one County department to another.
- Interclass transfer - a transfer from one job class to a different job class. In addition, the difference between the top salary steps (the highest pay rate within the range of pay) of your current job class and the job class that you intend to transfer into, must be less than 5%.
- Voluntary demotion - a transfer into a job class that pays less than 95% of your current class salary.
- Principles and practices of supervision, discipline, leadership, mentoring, and training
- Team dynamics and team building
- Applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations regarding landside and airside aviation operations; airport security and emergency response requirements; passenger, general aviation, and cargo operations
- Operational characteristics, services, and activities of assigned programs and functions
- Principles and practices of public sector budget development and administration
- Principles and practices of business accounting and purchasing
- Management and administration of retail and service tenant leases and rental agreements
- Community relations and customer service delivery standards
- Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and other specialized applications related to area of assignment
- English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Aviation radio procedures and phonetic alphabet, movement/non-movement areas, sterile areas, secured areas, security identification display area (SIDA) and aircraft operating area (AOA)
- Select, supervise, train, and evaluate staff
- Plan, coordinate, assign, and review the work of subordinate staff
- Investigate and resolve disciplinary issues
- Work independently, prioritize work, coordinate activities and meet critical deadlines
- Monitor and interpret budgets and other financial documents
- Develop and maintain cooperative, effective working relationships with others
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Interpret and apply applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations regarding aviation operations
- Apply customer service skills, including the identification of customer needs and follow up to ensure customer commitments have been met
- Collect and compile a variety of data and information
- Research, analyze and evaluate operations and procedural practices, policies, and rules affecting airport operations, security, contracts, personnel, and other administrative matters; identify improvement opportunities and implement recommendations
- Operate a variety of airport vehicles, automobiles and trucks
- Operate company and aviation radios
- Represent the SCDOA to other departments, agencies, and the public
- Represent management up to and including the Director of Airports in their absence
- Stand, walk, bend, and stoop for long periods of time.
- Move with agility around areas congested with traffic and people.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Work irregular hours and be subject to "on-call" status 24 hours a day.
- Work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Work at various locations within Sacramento County.
