Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating and processing new and existing drug orders, verifying benefits, and resolving any issues that may arise during the order fulfillment process. You will work closely with patients, insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of specialty drug orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional phone support to patients, addressing their concerns and resolving issues in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Coordinate and process new and existing drug orders, including verifying benefits and obtaining necessary authorizations
  • Assist patients with interpreting and entering new or refill prescriptions into the pharmacy data system
  • Communicate and collect copay amounts, obtain authorizations, and work with insurance companies and healthcare providers to resolve any issues
  • Collaborate with internal teams to monitor, identify, and resolve orders with potential clinical or financial issues

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Active IL Pharmacy Technician License or willingness to apply for an IL Pharmacy Technician License
  • At least one year of experience in a customer-facing role, handling complex customer needs via phone
  • At least one year of work experience with Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Office, web navigation, and email applications
  • Proficient keyboarding skills, with the ability to type accurately and efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working in the healthcare industry, with knowledge of benefits, insurance, medications, and medical terminology
  • Previous experience working in a pharmacy or customer service environment
