Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for patients and healthcare providers, handling inquiries via phone and email.
  • Delivering accurate information on medical services, insurance coverage, and payment options.
  • Collecting and verifying insurance details to guarantee precise eligibility and benefits documentation.
  • Assisting patients with payment plans and financial assistance as needed.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to resolve complex issues and ensure seamless patient care.
  • Staying up-to-date on industry developments and regulatory changes to provide informed support to patients and healthcare providers.

Required Skills

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Proficiency in typing at least 30 words per minute.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare or medical call center environment.
  • Familiarity with benefit verification and prior authorization processes.
  • Experience in medical collections, medical insurance, and prescriptions.
  • Knowledge of healthcare benefits including co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations.
  • Experience with patient assistance programs (PAP).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.

Compensation and Benefits
