Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced and customer-focused Remote Part Time Customer Service Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Access Center, you'll be responsible for answering a high volume of inbound calls, navigating electronic health records, and providing exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and facilities. Responsibilities

As a Remote Part Time Customer Service Specialist, you'll be responsible for:

  • Navigating electronic health records to obtain and validate historical information, capturing and documenting demographic and financial information, and maintaining patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA.
  • Managing a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to the call and providing excellent customer service in a variety of situations.
  • Leveraging critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify reason for the call and take appropriate action based on caller need and acuity.
  • Scheduling patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verifying and updating insurance, and collecting and documenting demographics.
  • Maintaining proficiency in and sharing knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions.
  • Communicating directly with providers (physicians) to relay pertinent clinical information during after hours.
  • Managing calls within established performance and customer service standards, achieving targeted abandoned call rate, average speed of answer, and average transaction time.

Requirements

* High School Diploma or GED

  • 2-5 years of recent healthcare or customer service experience
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and customer service software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a healthcare setting

  • Knowledge of insurance basics and MyChart
  • Experience with customer service software and electronic health records
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Typing Test Required

As a Remote Part Time Customer Service Specialist, you'll be required to pass a typing test with a minimum speed of 35 wpm and 90% accuracy.

Shift

* Monday-Tuesday: 7:30am-4pm

  • Wednesday-Friday: 9am-1pm

No Weekends or Holidays

As a Remote Part Time Customer Service Specialist, you'll enjoy a flexible schedule with no weekends or holidays.

Location

* Must live within 1 hour of St. Louis, Missouri

28 Hours per Week

As a Remote Part Time Customer Service Specialist, you'll work 28 hours per week, providing flexibility and work-life balance.
