Join our Events team as a Remote Event Planning Manager at Hyatt Regency New Orleans, where unforgettable experiences come to life at one of the city’s most iconic hotels. This role offers the opportunity to plan complex, high‑profile programs while partnering with an award‑winning hospitality brand recognized globally for its culture, diversity, and care for colleagues. Located in the heart of downtown New Orleans, Hyatt Regency New Orleans features nearly 1,200 guestrooms and over 200,000 square feet of premier event space. As a Remote Event Planning Manager, you’ll collaborate closely with our on‑property teams to deliver seamless, detail‑driven events while building trusted relationships with planners and clients around the world. What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary planning contact for assigned sales‑booked group events
  • Act as the liaison between meeting planners and hotel departments to ensure seamless event execution
  • Administer and manage sales agreements, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client expectations
  • Detail all Food & Beverage, audiovisual, and event setup requirements
  • Manage room blocks, pickup, billing instructions, and final program reviews
  • Generate additional revenue through strategic upselling of banquet food and beverage, meeting space, and ancillary services
  • Effectively sell Hyatt Regency New Orleans services, both on‑property and through 1718 Events offsite
  • Gain client commitment while maintaining strong relationships and confidence throughout the planning process
  • Work collaboratively with all hotel departments to ensure services are delivered as communicated
  • Partner closely with an on‑property Event Planning Manager for each assigned program
  • Turn over a fully detailed and accurate event program to the on‑site team
  • Maintain ongoing communication throughout the event to manage changes and client requests
  • Attend select on‑property meetings and events as required, including critical pre‑planning meetings, pre‑conferences, first main day of events, quarterly team business retreats, and corporate‑sponsored training

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • A minimum of 2–4 years of high‑volume hotel event planning experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 2+ years of hotel and/or food & beverage experience preferred
  • Strong general computer knowledge and experience with standard business programs
  • A genuine desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast‑paced hospitality environment
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with guests, clients, and fellow team members
  • Professional appearance with confidence when interacting with clients and leadership
  • Exceptionally detail‑oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Solid understanding of contract negotiation and interpretation
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations, including guest services, reservations, housekeeping, audiovisual, banquets, accounting, restaurants, and engineering
  • Demonstrated positive leadership characteristics that inspire others to exceed service standards and expectations
  • Knowledge of meeting room setups and capabilities, sleeping room configurations, and room types
  • Ability to respond to Meeting Planner requests promptly and professionally
  • Experience creating, reviewing, and revising rooming lists and VIP lists
  • Ability to manage meeting space strategically to ensure maximum revenue potential
  • Experience maintaining price integrity for rooms and food & beverage using revenue management principles
  • Experience pre‑checking room and event setups prior to group arrival
  • Ability to provide accurate forecast information for rolling forecasts
  • Experience interacting with external planners and vendors for event setup and execution
  • Proven ability to manage existing accounts and conduct follow‑up for client re‑solicitation and repeat business
  • Demonstrated success increasing revenue per attendee through upselling techniques, rooms management strategies, and creative value‑added offerings
  • Experience creating and writing custom menus to meet event needs
  • PSS or equivalent training preferred
