Freelance WordPress Developer (Ongoing) — WP + Basic PHP/HTML + Server Basics
Freelance WordPress Developer (Ongoing) — Skill + Fit Matter We’re looking for a freelance WordPress developer for ongoing work (updates, fixes, improvements) with the potential to support a bigger site rebuild later. This role is collaborative. You’ll work closely with our internal point person day-to-day, so communication and reliability matter as much as technical skill. What you’ll do
- Troubleshoot and fix WordPress issues (themes, plugins, layouts, conflicts)
- Implement page updates and improvements cleanly and quickly
- Make basic template/code edits using HTML/CSS and light PHP when needed
- Maintain best practices: staging workflows, backups, update safety, basic security
- Own basic hosting/uptime realities:
- Monitor uptime and respond to outages
- Handle DNS/SSL basics and redirects
- Coordinate with hosting providers when needed
- Improve performance when needed (caching, image optimization, plugin cleanup)
- Document changes (quick notes + Loom walkthroughs when useful)
What we’re looking for
- Strong WordPress experience (2+ years preferred)
- Comfortable with basic HTML/CSS and basic PHP
- Comfortable managing hosting basics and keeping sites stable/online
- Clear communicator (fast responses during work blocks)
- Reliable availability for ongoing work
- Comfortable using a ticket board and collaborating async
- Bonus: experience with common page builders and modern WP tooling
Huge bonus (marketing technology) Experience with website marketing tech like GA4, GTM, pixels/conversion tracking, form + call tracking, CRM integrations, landing page tooling, and basic SEO hygiene. Fit / collaboration We’d love someone who’s around the same age as our day-to-day counterpart and shares a couple interests/hobbies — because you’ll be working together closely. To apply (please include) A short intro + your location/time zone Your weekly availability + typical response time Links to 2–3 WordPress projects + what you personally did One “recent annoying WP problem” you solved (2–4 sentences) Any hosting/uptime example you’ve handled (1–3 sentences) Any marketing tech experience (GA4/GTM/pixels/CRM/etc.) A couple interests/hobbies outside work We’ll start with a short call and then a small paid trial task on staging.Freelance WordPress Developer (Ongoing) — Skill + Fit Matter We’re looking for a freelance WordPress developer for ongoing work (updates, fixes, improvements) with the potential to support a bigger site rebuild later.
