Job Duties

As a Student Loan Advisor, you will be responsible for:

• Taking incoming calls, using chat, and completing outbound calls to assist borrowers with their questions and concerns
• Providing detailed information and processing applications with accuracy and efficiency
• Resolving emerging problems and issues that may arise with borrower accounts
• Practicing active listening, empathy, and clear communication to ensure a positive and professional customer experience
• Utilizing standard technology, such as a telephone, email, and web browser, to navigate and complete tasks
• Following established policies and procedures, including working within various systems, timekeeping, and documentation of calls
• Assisting borrowers with filling out applications and submitting them electronically to plan providers for processing
• Completing basic call logs, documentation, and related call details for each phone inquiry

Schedule

Our team works a variety of shifts to ensure that we're available to support borrowers 24/7. Your schedule may include:

• Monday: 11:45am-8:15pm
• Tuesday: 10:45am-7:15pm
• Wednesday: 10:45am-7:15pm
• Thursday: 8:45am-5:15pm
• Friday: 8:45am-5:15pm

Preferred Skills

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• The ability to speak and read English clearly, professionally, and fluently
• A minimum typing speed of 35 WPM
• Experience working with a personal computer and the Windows operating system
• The ability to effectively work within established key performance indicators/metrics
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
• The ability to multi-task and stay organized while completing simultaneous tasks
• May be required to work holidays and overtime

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you'll need:

• Excellent written/verbal/interpersonal communication skills sufficient to communicate and interact effectively with customers and co-workers
• Knowledge of contact center technology
• Strong computer skills with proficiencies in Excel and Word
• Excellent command of the English language, effective use of grammar skills
• Excellent communication etiquette
• Great customer service skills, with a focus on personalizing each call, being competent with information and assistance, patient and polite, and initiative-taking in offering solutions and assistance
