Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Remote Data Entry Clerk / Typing Specialist to join our data management team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for accurately and efficiently entering data into our database from paper documents. If you're a fast typist with a keen eye for detail and a passion for data management, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities

As a Remote Data Entry Clerk / Typing Specialist, you'll be responsible for:

  • Transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners
  • Typing in data provided directly from customers
  • Creating spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes
  • Verifying data by comparing it to source documents
  • Updating existing data
  • Retrieving data from the database or electronic files as requested
  • Performing regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • Sorting and organizing paperwork after entering data to ensure it's not lost

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Proven experience as a data entry clerk
  • Fast typing skills; knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Basic understanding of databases
  • Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • High school degree or equivalent

Essential Qualifications

* 2+ years of experience in data entry or a related field

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with database management systems (e.g., Microsoft Access, Oracle)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with data entry software (e.g., Data Entry Pro, Typing Master)

  • Knowledge of data entry best practices and quality control procedures
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data storage solutions (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox)
  • Certification in data entry or a related field (e.g., Certified Data Entry Specialist)

  • Excellent typing skills (at least 60 wpm)
