Job Overview

This is a full-time, hybrid position that offers the flexibility of mixed remote and in-office work, with a schedule that includes 2-3 days of on-site work and the remainder from the comfort of your own home. As a Project Associate, you will be an integral part of our Revenue Recovery Department, working closely with our team of professionals to ensure that our clients receive the reimbursement they are entitled to. Your exceptional data entry skills, proficiency in Excel, and ability to work with numbers will be invaluable assets in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Retrieving patient medical records from various hospital systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the process.
  • Generating and preparing patient itemized bills in appropriate formats for internal and external audits, adhering to strict deadlines and quality standards.
  • Extracting and entering necessary information from/to hospital patient accounting systems, maintaining meticulous attention to detail and data integrity.
  • Making phone calls to post-acute healthcare facilities to obtain information needed on patients, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Running and creating reports, analyzing data, and identifying trends to support the recovery team in their efforts.
  • Assisting with any other information gathering or data entry tasks as needed by the recovery team, showcasing your adaptability and willingness to learn.
  • Scanning and indexing documents, ensuring that all records are accurately filed and easily accessible.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in data entry, medical records, or a related field, with a strong track record of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create spreadsheets, charts, and reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of medical terminology and coding principles.
  • Familiarity with hospital patient accounting systems and electronic health records (EHRs).
  • Certification in medical records or a related field, such as Certified Medical Records Technician (CMRT) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
