Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to fill a part-time Customer Service Representative position. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service to our customers, responding to their inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and efficient manner. This is a remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home, as long as you are within 60 miles of the 77079 area in Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints via various channels, including phone, email, chat, social media, and more.
  • Process and prepare mail and packages for shipping, including labeling, packaging, and arranging courier or postal services.
  • Provide accurate and efficient assistance to customers by identifying their needs and resolving their issues promptly and professionally.
  • Listen attentively to customer inquiries and provide appropriate solutions or alternatives within company guidelines and policies.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate departments or supervisors for further resolution and follow-up.
  • Assist customers with placing orders, tracking shipments, processing returns, and other order-related tasks.
  • Make courtesy outbound calls to customers and record any feedback provided.
  • Handle irate or upset customers in a calm and professional manner, aiming to de-escalate situations and provide effective solutions.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • Bilingual – English/Spanish is required, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of Call Center experience, with a strong focus on customer retention and acquisitions.
  • Utility experience is a plus, but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college education is a plus.
  • Strong active listening and problem-solving abilities, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a remote or virtual call center environment.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software and other call center technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and outside the box.
