Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Iris Software Inc. is seeking a Senior Azure DevOps Architect for their client, a large organization. The role involves implementing and managing IaaS/PaaS services, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code in Azure environments to ensure scalable and secure deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Implements, automates, and manages IaaS/PaaS services, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC) within Azure environments to ensure scalable and secure, high-availability, and cost-effective deployments
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Designing and managing Azure resources using tools like Terraform or ARM templates
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Building and optimizing Azure Pipelines or GitHub Actions for automated testing and deployment
  • Azure Services: Expert knowledge of Azure networking, virtual machines, App Services, and Kubernetes (AKS)
  • DevSecOps: Integrating security controls (SAST, vulnerability scanning) directly into pipelines
  • Monitoring & Optimization: Implementing logging and monitoring solutions (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics)
  • Collaboration: Working with developers and security teams to improve, scale, and secure applications
  • End to End Release Engineering for Core Platform
  • Lead the build, deployment, and validation pipeline for all Workbench core platform releases, ensuring alignment with the Global Release Calendar and readiness criteria
  • Execute and maintain CI/CD workflows, ensuring reliable and repeatable deployments across all environments
  • Environment Management & Operational Stability
  • Own configuration, environment readiness, and technical dependencies needed for each release (e.g., GCP app registrations, Azure Foundry access, security groups)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve environment issues quickly—partnering with Cloud OPS, Nexus, and feature teams
  • Release Governance & Compliance
  • Provide DevOps input into Release Readiness Reviews, Go/No Go decisions, and ensure audit ready artefacts (deployment logs, rollback plans, change requests)
  • Work closely with Release Manager, Project Manager, and Global Security/Risk teams to ensure all deployments meet governance and compliance requirements
  • Incident Response & Hotfix Delivery
  • Lead technical analysis and rapid remediation for production issues affecting Workbench or connected applications (e.g., logging failures, service outages)
  • Build and deploy hotfixes outside normal release cadence while ensuring proper documentation and traceability
  • Automation & DevOps Enablement
  • Drive continuous improvement of DevOps tooling, automation, and observability—logs, alerts, build quality gates, and deployment safety
  • Support the consolidation and optimization of release processes (e.g., transitioning from 12 week to 8 week cycles, improving pain points in testing and approvals)
  • Cross Team Technical Collaboration
  • Collaborate with global teams (Nexus, GTK OPS, Security, regional deployment teams) to ensure alignment of release tooling, operational readiness, and technical standards
  • Provide DevOps technical guidance to feature teams across AU, PH, and FJ pods
