International & Federal Tax Associate/Senior Associate

Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP is seeking an Associate with 4-5 years of experience to work with its International & Federal team within the Tax practice group in the Washington, DC office. We are looking to add a team member with experience in international structuring and projects related to companies undergoing large-scale management or structural changes. This role also involves negotiating, documenting, and advising multinational clients on the tax considerations related to domestic and cross-border transactions. We cultivate exceptional attorneys across all levels by providing them with the tools and experiences needed to build successful careers! Chambers, Vault, and Law360 consistently rank our Tax practice group. Additionally, the Associate will have extensive interaction with clients, and the opportunity to be part of a practice that provides advice to a broad range of Fortune 100 clients and multinational companies. We are seeking candidates who possess key qualities and skills for this position.

• Four to five years of law firm or government experience.
• Skills and knowledge related to a broad range of tax matters and international tax policy.
• Experience planning transactions—acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, restructurings and finance company arrangements—to achieve desired business objectives in the most tax-efficient manner.
• Excellent writing and analytical skills.
• Strong academic records and impressive communication abilities.
• Availability to work in the office at least three days per week.
• Confidence, self-motivation, a team-player mindset, and the ability to assume responsibility for matters in an active practice.
