As a Character Art Intern, you will be responsible for producing character artwork for both two-dimensional and/or three-dimensional product applications. If selected, you will work on projects at all levels of complexity with the team while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards. This exciting internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Orlando, FL area from June 2026 to January 2027. What You Will Do: Development of character illustrations for style guides and portfolios across multiple properties and cross divisions. Idea generation for Franchise Expansion Art style/new technique development to co-ordinate with trends in the marketplace Contribute to new product ideas and participate in brainstorming sessions. Maintain high character art standards for the region. Develop a strong character art community across GPC Understand Disney Characters and Disney storytelling and how it translates to products. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Strong working knowledge of graphic design, character art, and/or merchandise design Skilled in the principles of cartooning, cartoon animation and character art Previous exposure and skill in multiple mediums including: sculpting, painting, and drawing Strong traditional and digital drawing skills and concepting skills. Proficiency and confidence in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop Demonstrate originality and creativity in your thinking, and consistently excel in collaborative teamwork. An understanding and awareness of marketplace trends Able to present creative concepts in both formal and informal settings. Education Current Undergraduate Senior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Art or Design Required Materials A portfolio review is required for this position. Applicants without a portfolio link on their résumé will not be considered a completed application packet and will not be considered for the position Eligibility Requirements & Program Information Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements: Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program. Be at least 18 years of age Possess unrestricted work authorization Additional Information The approximate dates of this in person internship are June 15th, 2026- January 2nd, 2027 Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship Must provide own housing during the internship program in the Orlando area Must have reliable transportation to/from work Housing: We can possibly assist with housing opportunities for Florida Based Professional Interns through American Campus Communities, for more information click here The pay rate for this role in Orlando, FL is $22.50 per hour.
