As part of our rapidly expanding Ocean Services division, you will join a high‑performing team dedicated to shaping the future of maritime transport, optimizing volume, pricing, and carrier performance across a global network.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and analytically‑driven Remote Ocean Freight Data & Strategy Analyst to lead the development and execution of strategies that accelerate ocean cargo volumes, enhance pricing competitiveness, and improve carrier relationships. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Ocean Services, you will serve as a subject‑matter expert for both internal stakeholders and external partners, translating complex data into actionable insights that drive revenue growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Volume Growth: Design, implement, and monitor initiatives that increase ocean freight volumes, aligning targets with overall business objectives and market trends.
  • Pricing & Rate Management: Lead the development of pricing programs, negotiate ocean carrier rates, and perform detailed rate analysis to ensure profitability while maintaining market competitiveness.
  • Carrier Performance Oversight: Evaluate carrier service metrics, routing efficiency, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs); conduct regular performance reviews and recommend corrective actions.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with sales, operations, product development, marketing, and global trade‑lane teams to communicate strategy, market conditions, and deliverables.
  • Customer Engagement: Act as a primary point of contact for key customers, addressing service issues, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Risk & Compliance Management: Work with product, sales, and operations to guarantee compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, minimizing exposure and safeguarding service quality.
  • KPI Monitoring & Reporting: Establish, track, and report on critical performance indicators (KPIs) related to volume, pricing, carrier performance, and financial targets; produce insightful dashboards and executive summaries.
  • Budget Ownership: Manage the annual Ocean Services budget, monitoring expenditures, forecasting variances, and delivering regular financial updates to senior leadership.
  • Marketing & Communications: Collaborate with the marketing team to craft compelling internal and external communications that articulate the value proposition of arenaflex’s ocean product suite.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in the international freight forwarding industry with a strong focus on ocean logistics.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating ocean carrier contracts, developing pricing structures, and analyzing rate trends.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to senior executives and diverse audiences.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical mindset, and a results‑oriented approach.
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing cross‑functional teams and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Experience with ocean freight management systems (e.g., CargoWise, Descartes, or similar platforms).
  • Advanced knowledge of trade lane economics, port operations, and regulatory environments (e.g., Incoterms, Customs compliance).
  • Professional certifications such as CSCMP, CLTD, or equivalent logistics credentials.
  • Prior exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis within a global logistics context.
  • Fluency in a second language (Spanish, Mandarin, Portuguese, etc.) to support international stakeholder engagement.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Excellence: Ability to synthesize large data sets, identify patterns, and translate findings into strategic actions.
  • Strategic Vision: Forward‑thinking mindset that anticipates market shifts and positions arenaflex to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  • Negotiation Savvy: Skillful at driving favorable terms with carriers while preserving long‑term relationships.
  • Collaboration & Influence: Comfortable working across global teams, building consensus, and championing initiatives.
  • Customer‑Centric Focus: Commitment to delivering exceptional service experiences that enhance client loyalty.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑paced, remote environment, managing multiple priorities with agility.
