Role and Responsibilities: As a Mail Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient handling, sorting, and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail. Your efforts ensure mail reaches its destination accurately and on time.
- Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail accurately and efficiently
- Process mail using sorting machines and manual methods
- Inspect parcels and letters for correct postage and addresses
- Maintain accurate delivery records and logs
- Coordinate with mail carriers and other departments for timely dispatch
- Assist customers with inquiries and basic postal services
- Operate mailroom equipment, including scanners, meters, and labeling tools
- Ensure compliance with USPS standards and federal regulations Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and tracking
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a mailroom or logistics environment
- Knowledge of USPS mail handling procedures and tools
