Remote Full-time Live

About arenaflex

arenaflex is a leading retailer known for blending community‑focused service with innovative product offerings. With a heritage of more than three decades, we have built a reputation for delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience in every store we operate. Our mission is to inspire confidence, create value, and make everyday moments easier and more enjoyable for the millions of guests we serve across the nation. At arenaflex, every employee is empowered to act as a brand ambassador, championing a culture of respect, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

Why This Role Matters

As a Customer Service Associate, you will be the face of arenaflex, shaping first impressions and ensuring that each guest leaves the store with a smile. You will blend sales expertise, operational precision, and genuine hospitality to create a seamless shopping journey—whether a guest is picking up a prescription, scanning a quick grocery run, or exploring special seasonal promotions.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience & Guest Interaction

  • Warmly greet every guest, offering proactive assistance and personalized recommendations that reflect arenaflex’s service traits: anticipating needs, providing thoughtful guidance, and following through until satisfaction.
  • Resolve questions, concerns, and issues promptly, employing active listening and empathy to turn challenges into positive outcomes.
  • Model and share best‑practice customer service behaviors—eye contact, courteous language, and attentive body language—with all team members.
  • Deliver a fast, courteous, and accurate checkout experience using assigned cash registers, handling cash, credit, and digital payments with integrity.

Sales & Product Promotion

  • Identify opportunities to recommend complementary or higher‑value items, increasing basket size while aligning with guest needs.
  • Execute suggestive selling techniques for seasonal promotions, loyalty programs, and arenaflex‑exclusive product lines.
  • Accurately process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges in compliance with store policy and legal regulations.

Merchandising & Inventory Management

  • Maintain clean, well‑organized counters and shelves; ensure product displays are attractive, properly stocked, and aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks, record discrepancies, and follow up on stock replenishment to prevent out‑of‑stock situations.
  • Price new merchandise, construct eye‑catching promotional displays, and execute seasonal resets as directed by the store manager or shift leader.
  • Apply first‑in‑first‑out (FIFO) rotation for perishable items and adhere to product separation policies (e.g., raw vs. pre‑cooked foods).

Asset Protection & Compliance

  • Implement arenaflex asset protection procedures to identify and minimize potential profit loss, including suspicious activity reporting.
  • Enforce compliance with state and local laws for regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco, ensuring age verification and proper documentation.

Specialty Areas

  • Provide knowledgeable service in the Photo Center, assisting guests with passport photos, poster prints, and creative machine projects while promoting related add‑on products.
  • Manage web‑pick‑up orders through Picture Care Plus, accurately picking items, preparing packages, and delivering orders to waiting guests.
  • Assist with interior and exterior store upkeep, ensuring a tidy, welcoming environment at all times.

Team Collaboration & Development

  • Foster respectful relationships with coworkers, embracing a collaborative spirit that drives collective success.
  • Participate in special assignments, cross‑training opportunities, and store‑wide initiatives as assigned by leadership.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions, complete Performance‑Linked Learning (PLL) modules, and pursue continuous skill development.

Essential Qualifications

  • Customer‑Focused Mindset: A natural enthusiasm for helping people, backed by a track record of delivering friendly, efficient service.
  • Basic Numeracy & Cash Handling: Comfortable processing cash transactions, making change, and reconciling registers at shift end.
  • Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication, with the ability to de‑escalate situations calmly and professionally.
  • Reliability & Punctuality: Consistent attendance and on‑time performance, crucial for maintaining store operations.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform repetitive motions such as scanning items.
  • Legal Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and meet age requirements for regulated product sales.

Preferred Qualifications & Nice‑to‑Have Skills

  • Prior retail or hospitality experience, especially in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Familiarity with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems, inventory software, or digital ordering platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of health‑related merchandise (e.g., pharmacy, wellness products) and ability to answer simple product questions.
  • Certification or experience in responsible alcohol/tobacco sales (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe).
  • Fluency in a second language to serve diverse community members.
  • Demonstrated initiative in suggesting process improvements or visual merchandising enhancements.

Core Skills & Competencies for Success
