Our stores are community hubs where customers come not only for products but for the genuine connection that only a caring associate can provide. If you thrive on making people smile, love a fast‑paced environment, and want to grow your career in a purpose‑driven company, the Temporary Customer Service Associate role is your gateway to an enriching experience.

Position Overview

As a Temporary Customer Service Associate at arenaxflex, you will be the face of the brand, delivering an exceptional and distinctive customer experience. You’ll manage checkout operations, engage shoppers, keep the store environment immaculate, and support a variety of ancillary services such as photo printing and online order pickups. This role is perfect for energetic individuals seeking a short‑term commitment with the potential for longer‑term opportunities within arenaflex.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delightful Guest Interaction: Greet each customer and patient with genuine warmth, make eye contact, and offer proactive assistance that anticipates their needs.
  • Checkout Excellence: Operate the assigned cash register efficiently—process sales, handle cash, issue change, and manage voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges with accuracy.
  • Product Recommendation: Identify opportunities to suggest complementary and higher‑margin items, increasing basket size while meeting the shopper’s interests.
  • Merchandising & Stock Management: Keep counters and shelves clean, well‑organized, and fully stocked. Perform inventory counts, price new merchandise, and maintain accurate records as directed by the store manager or shift leader.
  • Asset Protection: Follow arenaflex’s loss‑prevention protocols, spotting potential shrinkage and taking corrective action to safeguard company assets.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Verify age‑related and other legal requirements for regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco, ensuring full compliance with state and local laws.
  • Display & Promotion Execution: Build and refresh promotional, seasonal, and specialty displays, and execute store resets in line with visual standards.
  • Food Safety & Stock Rotation: Separate raw and pre‑cooked foods, place items according to policy (e.g., raw meats on bottom shelves), and apply FIFO (first‑in, first‑out) techniques for consumables.
  • Photo Services Expert: Assist customers in the photo area, operate digital passport photo stations, print posters, and promote photo‑related accessories and upgrades.
  • Web Order Fulfillment: Monitor online orders through Picture Care Plus, pick items accurately, and deliver finished orders to customers upon arrival.
  • Store Upkeep: Contribute to interior and exterior cleanliness, ensuring the store remains inviting, safe, and compliant with all health and safety standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Maintain respectful and supportive relationships with coworkers, embody arenaflex’s core values, and adhere to all corporate policies.
  • Special Projects: Tackle ad‑hoc assignments, from seasonal deep‑cleaning to inventory audits, as delegated by management.
  • Training & Development: Participate in scheduled training sessions and complete performance‑linked learning modules (PPLs) identified by the manager or corporate learning team.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications (e.g., retail management, customer service) are a plus.
  • Previous experience in a fast‑paced retail, hospitality, or customer‑facing role is preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with a clear, friendly speaking voice.
  • Basic math proficiency for cash handling, price calculations, and transaction reconciliation.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lb, and navigate a bustling store environment safely.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a flexible schedule that can accommodate weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Proficiency with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and willingness to quickly learn arenaflex’s proprietary tools.
  • Commitment to upholding arenaflex’s customer‑service standards and brand ethos.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with photo‑printing equipment, digital imaging, or graphic‑design tools.
  • Knowledge of food‑safety regulations and experience handling perishable merchandise.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and merchandising best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify loss‑prevention opportunities and act responsibly.
  • Multilingual abilities that enhance communication with diverse customer bases.
  • Previous exposure to regulated product sales, such as alcohol or tobacco, with a clear understanding of compliance requirements.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Customer‑First Mindset: A genuine desire to help, solve problems, and leave a lasting positive impression.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in cash handling, inventory counts, and display set‑up.
  • Adaptability: Ability to pivot quickly during busy periods, promotional events, or unexpected operational changes.
  • Team Orientation: Collaborative spirit that supports coworkers and contributes to a harmonious work environment.
  • Communication Excellence: Clear, courteous, and confident interaction with customers, peers, and supervisors.
  • Problem‑Solving: Resourcefulness in resolving customer concerns and operational hiccups without escalating unnecessarily.
