Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Remote Engineering Hub. This role is ideal for ambitious, entry‑level professionals who possess a strong foundation in software development and are eager to tackle complex, large‑scale cloud initiatives. As a senior‑level engineer, you will play a pivotal part in designing, building, and maintaining arenaflex’s core flight reservation, revenue management, and customer‑facing applications. The position offers a competitive salary of $75,000 per year, a flexible remote work environment, and a clear path for rapid career advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and implementation of high‑impact cloud‑native services that support millions of daily transactions.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional agile squads—including product managers, UX designers, data scientists, and external partners—to translate business goals into scalable software solutions.
  • Conduct thorough feasibility analyses, define technical requirements, and develop architectural roadmaps that align with arenaflex’s strategic vision.
  • Drive the detailed definition of feature specifications through active dialogue with product owners and end‑users, ensuring clarity and alignment.
  • Champion continuous improvement by researching emerging technologies, evaluating industry trends, and proposing innovative enhancements to our platform stack.
  • Architect, code, test, and document new software components while maintaining compliance with industry standards, security best practices, and performance benchmarks.
  • Perform rigorous code reviews to guarantee code quality, maintainability, and compatibility across diverse operating systems and devices.
  • Mentor junior developers, facilitate knowledge‑sharing sessions, and lead technical workshops that nurture a culture of learning.
  • Stay abreast of the latest development tools, methodologies, and hardware advancements, actively participating in professional communities and conferences.
  • Occasionally assume additional duties as delegated by the Engineering Manager, including project coordination, risk assessment, and stakeholder communication.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience in software development, preferably within a cloud‑centric environment.
  • Proficiency in at least one major programming language such as Java, Python, or C#; solid understanding of object‑oriented design.
  • Hands‑on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudFormation) or comparable cloud platforms.
  • Strong foundation in relational databases and SQL, as well as exposure to NoSQL solutions.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated testing frameworks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small project workstreams, manage priorities, and deliver high‑quality outcomes on schedule.
  • Professional attitude with a collaborative mindset, comfortable working in distributed teams across multiple time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in a technical field.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of micro‑services architecture, event‑driven design, and API‑first development.
  • Exposure to big data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop) and data analytics pipelines.
  • Certification in AWS (Solutions Architect, Developer) or equivalent cloud credentials.
  • Prior involvement in airline, travel, or logistics software projects.
  • Leadership experience in mentoring or coaching development teams.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and system architecture.
