Job title: Classroom Teaching Aide Company: Utah State University Job description: Overview Applications are now being accepted for classroom teaching aide positions at Edith Bowen Laboratory School. This position may include the following: Teaching Aide, RtI Teaching Aide, SPED Teaching Aide, SPED One on One Teaching Aide. We prefer 6 hours a day but we are willing to work with your school schedule. Responsibilities

• Prepares lesson materials and classroom curriculum based on individual student needs.
• Assists lead teacher in developing and adapting conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.
• Works with students in small groups helping with reading and math.
• Provides extra support to students with physical, mental or linguistic limitations.
• Maintains detailed records of student’s progress on instruction or behavioral goals.
• Supports students with assistive devices and supportive technologies.
• Performs specialized tasks to achieve instructional and behavioral objectives.
• Assists SPED teachers with behavior modification procedures.
• Assists SPED teachers in implementing programs outlined in the student's IEP, and coordinating with the classroom teacher, resource specialist, occupational therapist, speech therapist.
• Helps students with their mobility needs to ensure the provision of a safe classroom environment.
• Monitors students during activities and downtime and intervene in case of adverse activities.
• Adapts classroom activities and assignments to serve the purpose and reinforces class objectives.
• Communicates with students to determine their needs and ensures that these needs are being fulfilled properly.
• Operates equipment such as computers, printers, laminators.
• Enforces school rules and policies.
• Must be flexible and willing to learn.
• Must have a good attitude and good work ethic.
• Must be able to get along well with others.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience working in an elementary school setting.
• At least one year of experience working with RtI or SPED students (for certain aide positions).
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in education or related field preferred.
