About arenaxflex

Welcome to arenaflex, a leading retailer in the home improvement and lifestyle sector, known for delivering top‑quality products and exceptional customer experiences across a wide range of categories—from building materials and décor to garden supplies and tool rentals. Our mission is to empower every shopper to realize their vision for a better home and a better life. With a heritage rooted in innovation, community involvement, and sustainable practices, arenaflex continues to expand its footprint while maintaining a culture that celebrates curiosity, collaboration, and continuous growth.

Why This Role Matters

The Customer Service & Sales Associate position at arenaflex is the heartbeat of our in‑store experience. You will be the first point of contact for customers, transforming casual browsers into satisfied project owners. By mastering product knowledge, honing consultative selling techniques, and ensuring an inviting, safe, and well‑stocked environment, you directly influence our brand reputation and drive revenue across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Interaction & Sales Enablement

  • Greet every customer with a friendly, solution‑focused attitude, establishing rapport within seconds.
  • Qualify customer needs through purposeful questioning, actively listening to uncover both explicit and latent project goals.
  • Recommend product mixes, accessories, and complementary services that align with the customer's vision, budget, and timeline.
  • Guide customers through the entire sales cycle—from initial interest to final purchase—ensuring a smooth, confident checkout experience.
  • Close sales by summarizing benefits, handling objections, and securing commitment, while always maintaining honesty and integrity.

Product Mastery & Departmental Collaboration

  • Utilize arenaflex's proprietary learning tools, digital catalogs, and in‑store signage to stay current on product features, warranties, and industry trends across departments such as Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert for assigned categories, offering tailored advice that positions arenaflex as a trusted project partner.
  • Coordinate with colleagues in adjacent departments to create seamless, cross‑category experiences for customers undertaking larger renovation projects.

Store Presentation & Safety

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels in assigned zones, regularly executing stock checks, replenishment, and merchandising updates.
  • Ensure all aisles, displays, and workspaces remain clean, organized, and "shop‑able," enhancing visual appeal and reducing friction.
  • Adhere strictly to arenaflex's safety policies: complete required training, promptly correct hazards, report unsafe conditions, and model safe behavior for teammates, vendors, and customers alike.

Administrative & Reporting Duties

  • Process customer orders, returns, and exchanges accurately using our POS system.
  • Document sales activities, lead generation notes, and project follow‑ups in the CRM platform to enable future outreach and service continuity.
  • Collaborate with Department Supervisors to provide feedback on product performance, customer preferences, and operational challenges.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience in a customer‑facing retail or sales environment, preferably within home improvement, hardware, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets through consultative selling techniques.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with a talent for translating technical product details into clear, compelling benefits for customers.
  • Proficiency with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Physical capacity to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and navigate a busy store floor safely.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with product categories such as electrical, plumbing, or flooring, providing a deeper understanding of project‑level solutions.
  • Certification in sales methodology (e.g., SPIN, Challenger, or Sandler) or completion of a retail sales training program.
  • Prior involvement in lead generation or “Pro Account” sales, with a track record of nurturing B2B relationships.
  • Multilingual abilities, especially Spanish, to better serve diverse customer demographics.
  • Familiarity with safety compliance standards such as OSHA or equivalent industry guidelines.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Consultative Selling: Ability to diagnose customer needs, recommend holistic solutions, and close with confidence.
