Safety Team Member Make a difference, night after night Location: London SouthContract Type: Permanent.Working hours: You will be working 2 nights out of 7 (predominantly Saturdays & Sundays) between the hours of 10pm - 7am.Salary: £13,990.80 - £14,544 + bonus + benefitsAs a Student Safety Team Member, you`ll play a key part in keeping our students and buildings safe, comfortable, and welcoming throughout the night. You`ll be the reassuring presence that helps students feel supported, cared for, and at home. You`ll work closely with Student Safety Team Leader and your peers across the cluster, making a real impact every day. Every shift brings something different ?" from doing safety patrols and updating Excel handovers, to responding to emails or supporting a student who needs help in the early hours. It`s a role where you`ll stay calm under pressure, connect with people, and make a real difference every night.Your impact ResponsibilitiesWhilst no two nights are the same at Unite Students, here`s a flavour of what you`ll be responsible for in this role:
- Be a friendly face and first point of contact for students who need support or reassurance overnight.
- Keep our buildings and everyone in them safe, responding calmly to incidents or emergencies such as fire alarms, noise complaints, or maintenance issues.
- Help students feel welcome, respected, and cared for - always treating everyone with empathy and professionalism.
- Work closely with day and night teams to ensure seamless service and handovers.
- Take pride in maintaining tidy, safe, and well-kept spaces.
- Support with wellbeing or welfare matters, noticing when something isn`t right and taking action to help.
- Be a brand ambassador, living our CARE principles: Connect, Act, Respect, and Encourage.
- Enjoy connecting with people and creating a safe, inclusive environment,
- Stay composed and confident when faced with unexpected challenges,
- Take pride in doing what`s right and supporting others
- Preferred, have experience in a customer service role or residential environment - though this isn`t essential. What matters most is your ability to connect with people and create a safe, welcoming atmosphere
