Position: Chief People Officer (CPO) LOCATION: This position oversees operations, talent, and administration at multiple locations across the Seattle-Tacoma area (Tukwila, WA; South Seattle, WA; Tacoma, WA; Renton, WA) and in-person work at all sites is required SALARY: $155,998-$186,432 based on aligned years of experience up to 9 years. STATUS: Full time year-round, benefits eligible, exempt, in-person position START: This position is year-round & hiring happens on a rolling basis. Start date will be determined as a part of the offer process. REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer Role Overview Impact Public Schools (IPS) is seeking a strategic and transformational leader to serve as the Chief People Officer (CPO). The CPO is responsible for the strategy, design, and execution of a robust talent strategy designed to support Impact’s growing school network in the Seattle-Tacoma area. The ideal candidate is a people leader skilled in vision setting and team management. They will be experienced in overseeing talent and HR work including staff culture development, performance systems, employee relations, implementing HR supports and the recruitment & hiring of transformation talent. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the leader will work closely with the CEO and the entire executive team on meeting ambitious goals related to the recruitment, care for, and retention of transformation talent in alignment with Impact’s Strategic Plan. Key Strategic Leadership Responsibilities

  • Design strategies in partnership with network leadership with input from the entire Impact community aimed at achieving ambitious long term goals around team member retention.
  • Lead the People Team to successfully meet annual targets aligned to the network’s long-term vision.
  • Develop the systems, structures, and talent infrastructure required to grow the organization.
  • Grow Impact’s leadership capacity by developing & hiring talent to meet Impact’s mission of closing the opportunity gap and providing all students their right to a high-quality education.

Core Job Functions Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team to develop and implement organizational strategy.
  • Serve as a thought leader on all operations matters and develop strong professional working relationships with the CEO, senior leadership team members, the board, and school leaders.
  • Translate Impact's educational vision into operational systems that support school success so that culture and academics can thrive.
  • Lead long-term operational planning and resource allocation across all schools.
  • Work with external stakeholders on operational strategies and challenges, including legal counsel, WA State Charter School Commission (authorizer), Charter School Growth Fund, as well as the board of directors to ensure our work is compliant, sustainable, and leverages best practices.
  • With the senior leadership team, cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence among the staff, as well as a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Serve as a role model, leader, and manager, investing deeply in supporting your direct reports as well as all operations and people team members.
  • Oversee hiring, on-boarding, goal setting, management, and evaluation of talent at all levels in partnership with school and home office leaders.
  • Build team structures that ensure a high level of customer service to meet the needs of our schools and home office by leveraging processes that are standardized, streamlined, and efficient.
