Social Content Coordinator
The Social Content Coordinator is responsible for executing high-velocity, high-impact content distribution across The Western Journal’s social platforms. This role sits at the intersection of editorial and audience growth, translating news coverage into compelling, platform-native content that drives reach, engagement, and traffic. This is not a passive scheduling role. The ideal candidate understands how content performs in real time, can identify high-leverage stories, and executes quickly with sound editorial judgment.

Core Responsibilities:
- Execute daily publishing across Facebook, Instagram, X, and emerging platforms with speed and precision
- Translate written articles into high-performing social formats, including headlines, captions, and visual pairings
- Identify and prioritize stories with strong distribution potential based on timeliness, relevance, and audience interest
- Monitor real-time performance metrics (engagement, CTR, shares) and adjust execution accordingly
- Maintain consistency in brand voice, tone, and editorial standards across all platforms
- Collaborate with editorial and leadership teams to align distribution with key narratives and priorities
- Support development of repeatable content formats that scale performance across multiple pages and audiences
Candidate Profile:
- Demonstrated experience managing or contributing to social media accounts with measurable engagement
- Strong instinct for what drives clicks, shares, and conversation in a news or media environment
- Ability to operate at high speed without sacrificing accuracy or judgment
- Clear understanding of platform dynamics (particularly Facebook and X) and how content distribution behaves
- Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in a fast-moving, performance-driven environment
- Alignment with the values and mission of The Western Journal
Compensation: Based on experience and demonstrated capability
Compensation will be reviewed after 90 days, with opportunity for increase based on performance and output
Schedule Expectations: Flexible structure, but candidates must be consistently available for daily publishing and responsive to time-sensitive news cycles. Some evening and weekend availability will be required based on breaking news and priority coverage.
