Water Project Supervisor
Clean Harbors is seeking a Water Project Supervisor to add to our Water Project Team located in Kalkaska, MI. The Water Project Supervisor operates at project sites supervising crews of Environmental Technicians as necessary at customer projects in the field.
Location: Candidates can live anywhere in the country as this is a traveling role.
The typical rotation is 6 weeks out in the field with 1 week off at home. This role travels all over the United States and occasionally overseas.
Pay Range DOE: $26-31. There is also per diem available when traveling, considerable OT depending on projects, and some federal contracts that will be at a higher rate.

- Supervises multiple employees and a single plant operation.
- Operates and works in plant as necessary.
- Operates a forklift when necessary.
- Assures all associated paperwork as required for operations is maintained and submitted immediately after processing operations have been completed.
- Ensures that employees follow and maintain all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensures that supervised operations staff meets all compliance standards.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in environmental studies preferred.
- Experience working with water treatment, building filtrations systems, working in wastewater treatment plants highly preferred.
- 3+ years of supervisor experience is preferred.
- Water certifications are a plus.
- Valid and clean driver’s license and acceptable MVR.
- Knowledge of RCRA requirements/regulations.
- Understands the manpower and equipment required to complete assignments.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Available for 24 hour, on-call basis.
- Strong mechanical ability preferred.
- Knowledge of chemicals preferred.
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation DOT regulations, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) waste codes, manifesting and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR) (preferred).
- After hire may need to pass a federal level background check, DBIDS. Failure to pass this will possibly result in termination as this is required to work at the location.
- All other duties as required by Management.
- Requires pulling/pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, crawling, stooping and crouching in confined spaces; Requires walking, climbing, speaking, listening, color determination and clarity of vision at 2 feet or more (with or without lenses); Requires sitting for extended periods. Requires the ability to properly wear and use personal respirator equipment and other forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) including levels A,B,C,D & E, including full encapsulation PPE suits which can elevate body temperature substantially during strenuous exertion.
- Available for 24/day on‐call basis.
- Requires speaking, writing, and listening in English.
- Position involves strenuous physical exertion. Requires standing, lifting up to 50lbs.
