Experienced Data Entry Specialist – Prior Authorization Operations

In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our data entry processes, supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to our clients.

Job Summary:

As a Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently entering data from scanned and/or processed images into our data capture system. You will work closely with our team to meet production volume goals, maintain quality levels, and increase speed and difficulty of tasks as expected with training and practice. Key Responsibilities:

• Enter data from scanned and/or processed images into the data capture system with high accuracy and efficiency

• Meet expected hourly production volume goals while maintaining quality levels above minimums set by management
• Increase speed and difficulty of tasks as expected with training and practice
• Maintain awareness of and actively participate in the Corporate Compliance Program
• Maintain a neat and orderly workstation
• Assist with other projects as assigned by management
• Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality
• Work comfortably in a production environment with fluctuating workloads
• Possess proficient typing skills (35wpm / 98% accuracy minimum) and excellent organization skills
• Reliability of task completion and follow-up

Essential Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Health claims processing experience, including use of claims processing software and related tools
• Proficient in medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding, and HIPAA regulations
• Basic mathematical skills and intermediate typing skills
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of insurance policies, regulations, and best practices
• Ability to download 2-factor authentication application(s) on personal device, in accordance with company and/or client requirements
• Ability to pass the required pre-employment background investigation, including but not limited to, criminal history, work authorization verification, and drug test

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a fast-paced production environment with fluctuating workloads

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and active-listening skills
• Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic environment
