Looking for Day Academy Teacher in Largo, FL

Job title: Day Academy Teacher Company: GradePower Learning Centers Job description: Day Academy Teacher The perfect part-time position for changing lives Day Academy at GradePower Learning Largo is a homeschool support program for students in 3rd-12th grade. We need a passionate, energetic instructor who enjoys making a difference in the lives of students without the headaches of a formal school system. Students work on their individualized program at their own pace, so you know you are helping them make gains they were unable to make in a traditional classroom. All parent contact is done by Day Academy coordinators, so all you have to do is teach. Our curriculum is proprietary, and minimal planning is required. Position Requirements: A commitment for the school year is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must. This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory. We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements: Education:

• Bachelor?s degree required
• Classroom or FLVS experience is preferred, but not required
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the current first grade to 12th grade curriculum

Experience:

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a first grade to 12th grade (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details): You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

• After school classes: Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
• Day Academy: Student teacher ratio is no more than 6:1.
• Teaching online and in-person
• Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Filling in post-lesson notes
• Completing daily student communication updates
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
