Littera Education is looking for English / Reading / ELA tutors that have experience working with students who are first learning English and/or who speak English as a second language, to join our virtual tutor pool.
- 100% virtual tutors will provide tutoring to K-6 students across the United States using provided lesson content in an engaging, feature-rich virtual classroom.
- Tutors must be located within the United States when conducting tutoring.
- Tutors are scheduled with the same student for multiple sessions a week, most often at the same time, on different days.
- Tutoring takes place Monday to Friday between 8am ET and 9pm ET.
- Tutors for this role would add availability to their calendar for potential scheduling at least 3 days a week at the same times each day (not including Saturday and Sunday).
- A session series may range from a six week length to the full school year.
- Tutors may choose to be assigned to more than one session series and can conduct multiple daily sessions.
- TESOL/TEFL/TESL Certificate preferred (will upload at time of application)
- Experience working with ESL/EFL learners
- ESL virtual tutor experience a plus
- Relevant experience working with school-age learners in some capacity
- Relatively consistent ongoing calendar availability, week to week at the same time
- Ability to effectively instruct and engage students with clear communication
- A high comfort level with online virtual tools and technology
- Desktop or laptop using the Chrome browser, a video camera, and a reliable/stable internet connection. We recommend a hard-wired high-speed internet connection and a noise canceling headset with microphone
- Tutors must reside and tutor from within the continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii
- A bachelor?s degree is preferred, college students are welcome to apply with 1+ years of relevant experience
- Tutors choose the subjects and grade levels they enjoy tutoring
- A self-paced curriculum orientation shows how to access provided lesson content (which is in English)
- Engage and build rapport with the same student(s) week to week
- Tutors enjoy an ongoing, repeating series of bookings
- Littera is based in the USA with a dedicated team ready to assist
- Meet with a tutor mentor and participate in a 25 minute virtual mock tutoring appointment with a 5 minute tutoring demonstration with provided mock session content.
- Tutors that receive an offer will be asked to complete onboarding steps and consent to a background check.
