Litigation Associate
Morrison Mahoney LLP is a premier litigation law firm in the Northeast, seeking a full-time Associate Attorney focused on civil litigation and insurance defense. The role involves managing a caseload, drafting legal documents, and collaborating with clients and colleagues to devise effective litigation strategies.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage your own caseload from inception to conclusion
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while adhering to deadlines
- Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials
- Engage closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to devise effective litigation strategies
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and write memoranda to bolster case strategies
- Ensure smooth case management working alongside seasoned partners and senior attorneys
Skills
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admitted to the Connecticut State Bar or have an adequate UBE score for admission to the jurisdiction
- 1 to 5 years of litigation experience preferably in insurance defense or closely related practice area
- Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions
- Strong capabilities in performing thorough legal research and responding effectively to discovery requests
- Strong advocacy skills for assisting in mediations, arbitrations, trials, and hearings
