JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State DuBois Position: Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Criminal Justice Appointment: Full-time, term appointment for one year (36 weeks with possibility of renewal), teaching-line faculty position beginning January 2024. Position Summary: Penn State DuBois seeks applicants for a term non-tenure track Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor position in Criminal Justice. Preference will be given to individuals who have a strong commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment. Scholarly achievement that demonstrates potential for independent scholarship and research is desirable. • The successful candidate would teach four courses (12 credits) each semester, eight different courses per year ranging from introductory level to upper-level classes in the Criminal Justice Program. Courses would include Research Methods; Criminal Justice Ethics; Introduction to Courts; Introduction to Criminal Justice; Race, Crime, and Justice; and Capstone classes. Teaching assignments for the classroom may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday classes as needed. Participation in campus, university, and community service activities are required.
