Are you a commercial sign and branding industry professional supporting national account programs?

The National Sign Program Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver larger and more complex commercial sign and branding projects. This person would manage resources, schedules and financials throughout the project life cycle as well as collaborate with other departments regarding issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.

A major part of this role would be contributing to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.

The National Sign Program Project Manager has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis. They would verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost to achieve them.

Duties and Expectations

The National Sign Program Project Manager is expected to own and manage the full project life cycle, from handoff and scope of work discussion through billing. You will be expected to manage a minimum of $1.5 million annually (closed and billed jobs).  

A successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor programs simultaneously in the following categories and competencies: 

CUSTOMER INTERACTION & COMMUNICATION

    1. Create and maintain comprehensive project / program documentation
    2. Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project to develop the appropriate scope of work per client's vision and brand standards

    3. Manages the relationship with the client and relevant stakeholders

    4. Provide frequent status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, and communicating across leadership.

PROJECT EXECUTION

    1. Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources and chair the project management team meetings for the assigned account (s)
    2. Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress, sharing the plan with clients as well as other internal and external staff members
    3. Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels
    4. Measure performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques
    5. Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
    6. Establish, coordinate and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of multiple projects
    7. Proactively report and escalate to management as needed
    8. Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget
    9. Manage ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution

BUDGET MANAGEMENT

    1. Prepare project budget proposals and detailed project plan for all phases of the project
    2. Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis
    3. Perform risk management to minimize potential risks
    4. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques

CONTINUOUS TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

    1. Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
    2. Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization

    3. Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence

    4. Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business

    5. Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency

    6. Perform other related duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in business, construction, manufacturing or relatable industry

  • 5+ years of experience in construction, sign or branding project management, including tracking and planning projects preferably

  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience negotiating vendor contracts
  • Ability to help others and solve problems on own
  • Strong ability to build successful relationships with clients leading to long-term business
  • Able to plan and organize workflow, following established processes to get the work done
  • General knowledge of blueprint reading skills
  • B2B sales experience
  • Experience in construction projects related to branding, signage, resets and new construction for retail, c-stores and other verticals
  • Experience with Jobscope, Taskray, SharePoint, Smartsheet or other project management software
  • Experience with commercial construction preferred in areas such as signage, branding, ACM panels, canopies, drive thru systems, cladding, etc. supporting a variety of verticals such as retail, QSR, hospitality, banking, automotive, petroleum, corporate, education and other commercial verticals requiring branding standards

  • Preferred permitting background 

  • Preferred Project Management Professional certification
