Job Summary
As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in designing and developing cloud-based data pipelines that drive business growth and innovation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop data solutions that meet those needs. Your expertise in data engineering, cloud-based technologies, and data analytics will be essential in delivering high-quality data solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop scalable data pipelines that drive business growth and innovation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop data solutions that meet those needs
- Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data set frameworks, and tools for continuous and batch data processing
- Work with the data science team to integrate data and models into automated processes
- Develop expertise in cloud-based technologies, including Cloud, Hadoop, and data warehousing
- Develop strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and other relevant languages to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems
- Assemble data stores and data models to support data science and other internal clients
- Ensure data quality and accessibility standards are met
- Investigate current data technology trends to identify and evaluate key capabilities and suggest solutions
- Explore new tools and technologies to determine the best approach given the requirements of the model/use case
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in data engineering
- 5+ years of experience with SQL
- 5+ years of experience with Python
- Experience with cloud-based platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
- Strong communication, decision-making, and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Hadoop, Hive, or PySpark
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Experience with healthcare industry data (an asset)
