Experienced Customer Service Representative – Laboratory Sample Coordination and Support

As a CSSR, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services, providing excellent customer service, and coordinating laboratory samples and supplies.

Job Summary

The Customer Service Sample Representative (CSSR) will be responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, receiving all laboratory samples into the LIMS system, receiving all laboratory supplies, and coordinating customer pickups. This is a part-time position, requiring flexibility in schedule due to the department's needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and time management skills, excellent communication skills, and a customer-centric approach.

Key Responsibilities

* Greet visitors, ascertain the nature of their business, and escort them to the appropriate personnel.

  • Answer telephone calls, provide information to callers, and/or route calls to the appropriate personnel.
  • Receive and secure all incoming laboratory samples mailed or collected through courier services or customer drop-off.
  • Enter laboratory worksheet/sample submission form information into LIMS.
  • Maintain contact with customers and work with the laboratory team for any customer communication.
  • Receive and disseminate all inbound laboratory supplies to applicable laboratory departments.
  • Perform 100% proof checks on daily paperwork for ISO compliance.
  • Support the laboratory by creating purchase orders and placing orders for the laboratory.
  • Coordinate and communicate all customer courier stops and pick-ups.
  • Support the laboratory operations and customers by picking up and dropping off samples and supplies, when needed.
  • Responsible for filing and keeping documents organized.
  • Extensive database entry and support the laboratory operations by performing any administrative and clerical duties, including customer certificates.
  • Assist in other assigned duties as needed.

Schedule

The ideal candidate will be available to work a flexible schedule, with a typical need for afternoon surge of incoming samples from 1 pm to 7 pm. Availability to work weekends will be required.

Requirements

* Education: High school diploma or GED; an AA degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Biology, or Chemistry is preferred.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in a laboratory or customer service environment

  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols
  • Familiarity with LIMS systems and database management
  • Certification in customer service or a related field
