Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative – Financial Assistance Counselor, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers. You'll work closely with our revenue operations team to resolve billing and collection inquiries, provide financial counseling, and ensure excellent customer satisfaction. This is a remote work opportunity, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home while still being part of a dynamic and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide day-to-day customer service activities within the hospital revenue operations, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction and resolving billing and collection inquiries

  • Serve as part of a Customer Service team responsible for handling various self-pay and insurance billing and collection inquiries
  • Assist patients in the resolution of billing issues, providing clear explanations and solutions
  • Provide detailed documentation and reports of customer complaints, tracking trends of customer service encounters
  • Resolve independently or escalate issues affecting customer complaints, ensuring timely and effective resolution
  • Perform communication and follow-up processes related to customer service, ensuring seamless interactions with patients and healthcare providers
  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the success of the revenue operations team

Requirements

* High school diploma or Associate's degree in Accounting or Business Administration or related field, with successful completion of the arenaflex Trainee program

  • At least one (1) year of experience and relevant knowledge of revenue cycle functions, preferably in a complex, multi-site environment
  • Financial counseling experience is essential, with a strong understanding of healthcare billing and collection processes
  • Experience with the Epic medical billing system is required, with a proven ability to navigate and troubleshoot system issues
  • Previous service/call center experience is preferred, with a strong track record of delivering exceptional customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and operate keyboard and telephone effectively
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems
  • Completion of regulatory/mandatory certifications and skills validation competencies is preferred, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
