About the Role

As an Experienced Full Stack Engineering Manager, you will lead 1-2 teams within the ChatGPT Research Acceleration team. Your primary responsibility will be to build tools, systems, and infrastructure that accelerate our research deployment velocity. You will work closely with a broad set of stakeholders, including research, engineering, product, design, and inference teams, to ensure that projects are on track, your team is utilized effectively, and core engineering needs are continuously addressed.

Key Responsibilities:

* Hire, grow, and manage a high-performing engineering team

• Build tools, systems, and infrastructure that accelerate our research deployment velocity
• Set the strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and lead your team to deliver
• Collaborate closely with a broad set of stakeholders, including research, engineering, product, design, and inference teams
• Ensure projects are on track, your team is utilized effectively, and core engineering needs are continuously addressed

You Might Thrive in this Role if You:

* Have experience leading successful ML infrastructure/platform teams and a strong and in-depth understanding of the experience of ML modeling teams

• Are a seasoned technical leader, with 8+ years experience in the industry, and 3+ years in engineering management
• Are experienced in collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that reliability, scalability, efficiency are considered in the design and development of new systems and tools
• Are comfortable with ambiguity and rapidly changing conditions, with a strong track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments
• Own problems end-to-end, and are willing to pick up whatever knowledge you're missing to get the job done
• Have a humble attitude, an eagerness to help your colleagues, and a desire to do whatever it takes to make the team succeed
• Have a strong track record of coaching engineers to achieve their peak potential
• Have experience closing competitive candidates for your team, and the ability to craft and convey compelling visions of the future
