Exciting times ahead. Having secured a grant from NLCF, we have ordered the build of a state-of-the-art, electric and fully accessible canal boat. This is due for completion in early summer and the progress of the build can be followed on our website.What difference will you make?The Charity is currently governed by a Board of five trustees. We are now seeking to expand the Board and build a more diverse group of trustees to ensure a broad mix of skills, knowledge, and experience. This will help widen perspectives, strengthen decision-making, and give the Board greater flexibility in meeting future challenges.What are we looking for?We are looking for someone who can contribute time, expertise and ideas to help move CanalAbility forward and is able to

  • Share our passion for our work and mission and is willing to contribute actively to the charity’s future development.
  • Have the ability to facilitate a good dynamic as a member of the board to allow for challenging supportive and unifying discussions that reach consensus.
  • Evaluate strategic options, demonstrating strong analytical skills, balanced with a practical approach to governance.
  • Work well with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the Charity.

  • Have leadership experience
  • Be willing to bring relevant contacts to the role.
