Responsibilities

As a Virtual Medical Assistant in our Customer Navigation Center, you will be responsible for:

• Serving as a liaison between providers, facilities, pharmacies, insurance plans, support staff, and patients to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
• Receiving, triaging, and responding to inbound requests via phone calls and electronic messages in a timely and professional manner.
• Assisting with virtual care activities such as gathering and documenting medical history, medication refills, and test result communication to support patient care and outcomes.
• Helping maintain provider schedules and preparing patients and charts for telehealth encounters to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.
• Managing outpatient registration, appointment scheduling, referrals to specialists, and patient portal administration to streamline patient flow and improve satisfaction.
• Authorizing services, equipment, and medications as needed to ensure timely and appropriate care.
• Performing other duties as assigned to support the team and achieve our goals.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A High School Diploma or GED.
• A Medical Assisting Diploma/Certificate from an accredited training program.
• At least 1 year of experience in a medical office setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice-to-haves

While not required, previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a Primary Care Medical Group Office or recent medication refill experience would be beneficial in this role.
