Job Summary
The Principal Engineer – Data Analytics & Data Science will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of data analytics and data science solutions that drive business growth and customer satisfaction. This is a senior leadership role that requires a deep understanding of data analytics and data science concepts, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding a team of engineers, developing and implementing data analytics and data science solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coach a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship to ensure the successful delivery of data analytics and data science projects
- Develop and implement data analytics and data science solutions that drive business growth and customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop data-driven solutions
- Develop and maintain data models and data warehouses to support business intelligence and analytics
- Design and implement data pipelines and data integration solutions to support data analytics and data science initiatives
- Develop and maintain data visualization and reporting tools to support business decision-making
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to develop and implement machine learning models and predictive analytics solutions
- Develop and maintain data quality and governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Collaborate with IT teams to develop and implement data security and compliance solutions
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data analytics and data science, and recommend new technologies and approaches to support business growth and customer satisfaction
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 15+ years of experience in data analytics and data science, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
- 5+ years of experience working with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Advanced knowledge of data analytics and data science tools and technologies, including SQL, Python, R, and machine learning frameworks
- Experience working with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases
- Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles and practices
- Experience working with data visualization and reporting tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to guide and motivate a team of engineers
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Significant industry certifications, such as Certified Data Scientist or Certified Analytics Professional
- Experience working in the retail industry, with a strong understanding of retail business operations and customer behavior
- Experience working with data lakes and data warehouses, with a strong understanding of data architecture and data engineering principles
