Responsibilities
- Write clear, accurate and reader-focused personal finance content across a variety of formats including guides, comparisons and reviews
- Conduct research using credible sources, data and expert insights to ensure accuracy and authority
- Follow USA TODAY editorial guidelines, commerce standards and disclosure requirements
- Collaborate with editors to revise and optimize content for clarity, accuracy and search performance
- Update existing content as needed to maintain accuracy and relevance
- Meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced digital newsroom environment
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience writing about personal finance, consumer services or small-business topics
- Ability to explain complex financial concepts in a clear, approachable way
- Familiarity with SEO-driven service journalism and digital publishing best practices
- Strong research and fact-checking skills
- Experience working in a newsroom, digital media organization or commerce content environment
