Job title: Adult Basic Education Teacher - Long Term Sub Company: Southeast Service Cooperative Job description: Provide direct ESL instruction in in a work place setting for the Adult Learning Center of Owatonna Public Schools, to improve English language speaking skills for adult learners. Responsibilities include lesson planning and instruction, conducting ongoing assessment, monitoring student attendance and achievement, collaborating with other staff on curriculum and content development. Requires using inquiry and cooperative teaching strategies to deliver instruction in-person and hy-flex learning environments. Fall Semester is already in session. Course framework, structure and resources already idenfied for the full class serires that started September 11th. Qualifications: A valid MN teaching or sub license. Highly skilled in digital literacy. Demonstrated use of innovative strategies and approaches to ensure all learners achieve at high levels. Previous experience in working with adult learners in an interactive, results-oriented environment preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to be flexible and function well in a busy environment with high expectations for students. Ability to work as a teacher-leader in building a collaborative learning partnership highly prized in a successful candidate. Bi-lingual skills desired. Consistent and reliable attendance a must. FTE/Schedule: .2 FTE 6 hours per week for 9 weeks (October 16, 2023 - December 12, 2023) Monday and Tuesdays from 4:15-6:45 onsite with additional prep Teaching occurs in a local manufacturing firm's training facility.
