POSITION
The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer pool in French to teach undergraduate courses in French language, culture, literature, linguistics and/or film (beginners to advanced learners).
Areas of Specialization
We are seeking highly motivated, well-organized individuals to teach in at least two of the following subject areas:
- French Language, Introductory to Advanced
- French/Francophone Culture, Intermediate to Advanced
- French/Francophone Literature, Intermediate to Advanced
- French Linguistics, Intermediate to Advanced
- Candidates must hold at least a master's degree in French or a related field and possess native-like fluency in French to teach lower-division (100- and 200-level) courses, must be at least a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) in French or a related field and possess native-like fluency in French in order to teach 300-level courses, and must hold a Ph.D. in French or a related field and possess native-like fluency in French in order to teach 400-level courses.
- Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
- This position requires the legal right to work in the United States of America. California State University, Fullerton cannot sponsor part-time faculty for work visas or permanent residence.
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching
- Preference will also be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
- Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.
