The Live Chat Team

The Live Chat Team is a highly scaled product that supports millions of messages with high performance and reliability. Key Responsibilities

As a Technical Lead II - Backend - Live Chat Development, you'll oversee a small team and provide technical guidance, product direction, and coaching to team members. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in the technical execution and delivery of new features to improve time to value
  • Unifying separate systems into a cohesive chat experience
  • Exploring generative AI opportunities to help our customers move fast
  • Making use of industry-leading 3rd party tools as well as robust home-grown infrastructure powering the arenaflex Engineering organization
  • Building and scaling a robust data infrastructure that serves the entire organization

Key Expectations

As a Technical Lead II, you'll be a player-coach responsible for leading a small team. You'll be recognized as a high-performing engineer, identifying as a maker and builder first. You'll collaborate with Product, Design, and other Tech Leads within your team to establish relevant, compelling, and challenging goals. You'll actively work with other Tech Leads to address and resolve cross-team issues.

Essential Qualifications

* Strong senior engineer with some experience leading small teams

  • Passion for writing code and reading code
  • Foster an environment that encourages autonomy and psychological safety
  • Understand the value of building a diverse team, and are champions and upstanders for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging initiatives
  • Enjoy mentoring and coaching other team members in a psychologically safe way, while also being open to learning from them as well

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with Java 11 and Dropwizard framework

  • Familiarity with Kafka for processing large volumes of data
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture
  • Experience with RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with industry-leading 3rd party tools

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $191,100 - $305,800 USD annually, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including:
